My name is Jo-Ann Fox and I am an elementary teacher. Since integrating technology into my primary classroom, it has changed the face of my teaching style in more ways than I could list. It has motivated my students to harness their learning and helped me to promote innovation. My students are actively engaged, easily make connections to their learning, collaborate with their classmates, and internalize their learning through the use of technology.
My goal with AppEducation is to share with you how I am implementing 1:1 iPods into my second grade classroom. As I began the adventure of 1:1 implementation, I became overwhelmed with the amount of educational apps that are available out there. I quickly found so many apps are not worthy of my students’ time. I realized it is not just WHAT apps I use in the classroom, but HOW I use them to promote the 4 C’s: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and to promote communication skills. As you set out on your journey to integrate technology into your classroom, come back and visit AppEducation.com often to research great ideas for the effective use of iPods or iPads in your classroom.
Most recently I was named:
2012 iVIE Special Recognition Award- Powerful Writing
2011 Escondido Union School District Teacher of the Year,
2011 Reidy Creek School Teacher of the Year
