This post is entirely inspired by #caedchat January 5, 2014.
The topic of the chat is:
Renew, Re-imagine, Recommit, and Reach Out
As a part of the chat we needed to come up with a quote, find a video that inspires us, post a link to a lesson that inspires me, and I am adding my one word for the year.
Here is the video to inspire this year, from Kid President. Just a little pep talk…
This kid is truly amazing. My students and I love listening to his message. So this year I want to help lead my students down the “road that leads to awesome.” To do that we need to create something that will make the world awesome.
Which leads me to my motto for the year:
The lesson that inspires me isn’t really a lesson, but rather a new approach. Last year I dabbled with Genius Hour but I didn’t think I gave it all that it was worth. This year I would like to inspire my 4th graders to find their passion, let it lead them to new learning, and find a new way to CREATE with it. So here is my link to a great Genius Hour resource: www.geniushour.com
My personal #oneword for the year is:
I am an artist. It is the one thing that has always brought me peace in my world. I often neglect this part of me. This year I will honor the part of me that needs to create, be it that I find more time to craft, sew, paint, blog, or create new lesson ideas.
